The third annual TI Day @ Mac!

This unique Texas Instruments training event is open to everyone! Get training & hands-on experience with the latest developments in technology from TI, the world's leader in electronic chips.

There are 3 streams of study to choose from: TIVA; MSP430; or Power Electronics for Automotive Applications. Details of the sessions here.

Undergraduate students in Electrical & Computer & Biomedical Engineering will find these training workshops very beneficial, particularly for the final year design project in capstone courses Elec Eng 4OI6 & 4BI6.

Each participant must bring their own laptop. We will provide participants with the software that is to be downloaded prior to the event, where applicable.

Every is welcome, but enrollment is limited, so register early! The registration deadline will not be extended.

2014 TI Day @ Mac event:

  • Choose a topic of study for the day - either TIVA or MSP430 or Automotive Power Electronics
  • TIVA Workshops: "Introduction to TI and ARM microcontrollers" and "Adding Wireless To Your Project"
  • MSP430 Workshops: "Introduction to TI and MSP430 microcontrollers" and "Interfacing with sensors"
  • Power Electronics for Automotive Applications Seminars: "Power Fundamentals - Running off a battery" and "Intro to motors and motor control - TI Spins Motors" and "Intro to Wireless Power"
  • $30 registration fee (includes HST)
  • A catered morning break is included with your registration fee.
  • Lunch is optional. You can join us for a catered lunch buffet for an additional fee of $15, or you can go off site and find an eatery in nearby Westdale Village. Those joining us for the catered lunch will be treated to an informal presentation about Texas Instruments and the positions that are in the company.
  • Parking is free! You can park in any of the lots surrounding the MIP and MARC buildings.
  • Located on Longwood Road, between Main St.W. and Aberdeen Avenue, the MIP and MARC buildings are less than 2 kms from McMaster University, and just off the highway.
  • If coming by car via Highway 403: Exit Hwy 403 at Aberdeen Ave - the first set of traffic lights is Longwood Road, turn left, and you will find MIP on the RIGHT at the next lights!
  • If coming by City of Hamilton bus (HSR): Bus routes #5 & #10 along Main St - get off at Main St & Longwood (then it's a very short walk down Longwood Rd); route #6 goes past the facility.
