Course:        ECE 741- Analog Integrated Circuits. Fall 2006

Instructor:    Dr. Jamal Deen

Office:          CRL 226, Tel: 525-9140, ext 27137

Course Description:

This course provides a fundamental, in-depth knowledge of the operation, analysis, modeling, design and layout of analog integrated circuits using CMOS technology. There will be a comprehensive review of the latest analog integrated circuits, detailed analyses of their operation and design issues of low-voltage, low-power designs.

Course Outline:

·      Review of integrated circuit technology

·      Models for IC active devices and computer-aided design tools

·      Noise in integrated circuits

·      Analysis of simple transistor amplifiers

·      Basic building blocks of analog integrated circuits such as current sources and mirrors, active loads, voltage sources and voltage references.

·      Operational amplifiers characteristics, analyses, and circuit design examples

·      Frequency response of integrated circuits

·      Examples and applications of analog integrated circuits

Grading:
