Biography

 

Jian-Kang Zhang received the B.S degree in Information Science (Mathematics) from Shaanxi Normal University, M.S. degree in Information and Computational Science (Mathematics) from Northwest University, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from Xidian University, all in Xi'an, China. He is now Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McMaster University. He has held research positions at Harvard University and McMaster University. He is the co-author of the paper which received the IEEE Signal Processing Society Best Young Author Award in 2008. He has served as an Associate Editor for IEEE Signal Processing Letters and IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing.

 

 

Current Research Interests

 

v  Additively and multiplicatively unique decomposition theory of finite alphabet signals and its applications to communication systems

v  Massive MIMO communications

v  Finite alphabet non-orthogonal multi-access (NOMA) technologies

v  Block QRS decomposition of matrices and its applications to transceiver designs for MIMO communications

v  Coherent and noncoherent space-time and distributed space-time block coding designs
