Nicola Nicolici is an Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at McMaster University. He received the Dipl. Ing. degree in Computer Engineering from the Politehnica University of Timisoara, Romania (1997) and a Ph.D. in Electronics and Computer Science from the University of Southampton, U.K. (2000). He is the recepient of the Best Student Paper Award at the IEEE International Test Conference (ITC) in 2000 and the Best Paper Award at the IEEE/ACM Design Automation and Test in Europe (DATE) in 2004.

Research Activities

The main focus of  our current research in the Computer-Aided Design and Test Research Group (CADT) is on electronic test automation, design for debug and design methods for hardware accelerators for scientific applications. IET/IEEE conference and journal papers can be downloaded from IEEEXplore.

We have also made publicly available the source Verilog files for MP3 audio and MPEG2 audio/video decoding (EETimes coverage of this release can be found here).
