Research Areas

The Auditory Engineering Laboratory conducts research in the areas of biomedical engineering and signal processing applied to the mammalian auditory system and to digitial speech processing. The primary application is using engineering methods to study and model the physiological mechanisms that contribute to hearing loss, to improve assistive devices for the hearing impaired such as hearing aids and cochlear implants.
