Safin Bayes , MSc. Student

I am a MASc student in the Fanos Research Lab, Electrical and Computer Engineering at McMaster University. I am from Bangladesh, but I was born and raised for 23 years in Qatar. I completed my B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University at Qatar. I was the recipient of the Summa Cum Laude Latin honors, Electrical Engineering Student of the Year, and Undergraduate Research Scholar Medallion. For my Undergraduate thesis, I developed a machine learning based cyber-security framework for smart grids. Aside from academics, I am hugely interested in playing and watching chess. Additionally, I also like to swim, long-distance run, and weight-lifting. In July 2021, I founded a blog called The Big Brain Blog, where I write articles on modern technology, artificial intelligence, astronomy, and education.
